The aggression committed by the MILF rebels was an unexpected thing that occur that lead both the MILF and The Philippine Marines to panic and open fire at each other. .

The Government Soldiers was not to blame. The government has to do something to this shocking situation we have right now and put justice for all the victims of this encounter between two groups. the MILF and the Marines.

After seing the video, i wanted to put justice into this act by the power of the government and put all those who have something to do with all of this behind bars. Specially to Muhammad Ameen the leader of the MILF groun, the whole MILF group. The government should give more attention and time to investigate every angle in this case to see trough what really cause this and who really to blame.

I wanted the MILF group to be out of Basilan. The KILF group is certainly up to nothing good. The People of Basilan has to nothing more to do because the MILF group out power them. They just have to strengthen them selfs and hope for the real peace to occur. I can say that the people of Basilan are prave people.

The war and killings can me all over if there is understanding between the government and the MILF group. thein gridient of achieving this PEACE is the equality and understanding of both side and unite to creat a better way of living. It would be so nice is love is present to all of us and with that, i can say that true freedom will be achived.

The tone of voice of Muhammad Ameen was in...

The tone of voice of Joel Goltiao is in anger, he is the one whos investigating this cace between the two groups. He must not let his emotions affect his work so that Justice can be achieve early if he finds out who to blame in thi case.

The tone of voice of Norberto Gonzales is in Range for me. I can see his anger for those who are behind this and his love for the Filipino Slodiers. Like me, Justice is the best solution to this king of actions by the MILF.

* 1st video? The message was about hitting the children physically which affects their emotional state of being.
* 2nd video? The second video, reminds us of what are our rights and that we should fight for it..

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)?
-Yes of course, it may not be shown as a whole but I believe that there is PEACE within them.

When will all these wars and killings be over?
-If one of them will humble themselves and surrender.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels? - pray for them. Im far from them, at that is the least thing that I could do..
* government's soldiers? - ill be an example of a good citizen of the country, and soon they'll realize everything was wrong. war is wrong.
* people of Basilan? - Extend a hand for them, maybe share my talents and let them explore the other side of life.
* young people (in general)? - Be a good example of what a peacemaker is all about.

What is the level or degree of aggression or hostility committed by:

MILF rebels
Beheading people is different, it is the epitome of brutally these rebels cause. Beheading a person is just plain cruel and must not be tolerated! What they did is to barbaric.

The government's soldiers
I wonder if the Philippines is worth dying for. These soldiers, who are sent to Basilan go there to serve us-the nation. I just wonder if it-what they are fighting for, what ever it is-is worth it.

What is the tone of the statement of:

Muhammad Ameen
This guy seems to be blaming the government soldiers who died. He directly states that its the soldiers fault and that they provoked the attack. If they did the question still remains, why did you have to behead them, couldn't they have spared them that humiliation.

Joel Goltiao
Mr. Goltiao has yet to loose hope and I admire him for that. He still thinks that the conflict down south will be resolved and somehow, deep in my heart, i believe him. I admire him for his tanacity though i dont think sending those involve to prison is the answer.

Norberto Gonzales
Powerful words form Mr. Gonzales. He is very assertive in his speech. But only time can tell if the government can really catch those who are at fault in the beheading.

1st video
Human right #5 No to torture! The video depicts the realities of life. People, even though this modern age, still get abused. Sometimes even by their loved ones. This video what's the world to know that we as individuals have the right to live without the fear of being beat up by someone.

2nd video
No one can take ayaw my human rights, nor can they take yours. It is free for everyone. And is given to everyone that has life. No matter what others say, you are human and you have dignity. This is that the second video what's to get across, it is the last of the thirty human rights each of us posses.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
Never loose hope! i still believe that one day all the nations will be one, and all people will stand as one. I believe the same is true for the Philippines. It is still possible to have a nation that is united. All we need to do is pray hard about it, for prayer always works. There is always hope, even in the most dark of places and I say the same for Basilan.

When will all these wars and killings be over?
Wars and killing will only be over upon the return of our Lord. He said so. It may not happen in our lifetime but as every promise of the Lord is made real, i believe that wars will only end on the day of rapture.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:
MILF rebels
You are fighting for what you believe in, in a way that is good. But do not be too harsh. don't be too barbaric. Torturing others may make you be noticed but it is not the answer, harming others will not take you very far. Violence in not the means to be free.

government's soldiers
Never cease to fight the good fight. If you know and believe in what you are fighting for then go for it. You are in the front line. You risk your life for this nation and for us the citizens and for that I thank you.

people of Basilan
There is always hope. Just be patient, this too will pass. Let us pray together that this conflict will end. Be steadfast, we as a nation should stand as one.

young people (in general)
We are the future of this country. Let us help the people of this land live a peaceful life. We can make a difference. All we need to do is stay focus to out true calling and to defend our human rights.

* 1st video?
-the message of the first video is that no one should ever be allowed to hurt you no matter what their reasons may be, especially those who do it for their own personal pleasure.
* 2nd video?
-the message of the second video is that everyone has their human rights as soon as they are born, your human rights are yours and will always be yours no matter what happens. and that no one can take them away from you.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
-peace has a place wherever it may be, it's just a matter of whether the people want peace or not.

When will all these wars and killings be over?
-the war will be over when both sides will stop and think and look at their mistakes and realize that the killings that are happening is pointless and should be stopped.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:
* MILF rebels?
- they should be taught on what human rights are so that they may learn to respect each individual's human rights. and realize that what they're doing (killing people) won't help them in achieving whatever they want to happen
* government's soldiers?
- the government soldiers are only trying to protect the lives of the basilan people, they should avoid killing as much as possible and practice maximum tolerance
* people of Basilan?
-the people of basilan should try to protect themselves from the milf and hopefully be able to stay safe.
* young people (in general)?
- we should teach young people about the importance of human lives so that these incidents won't happen anymore in the future.

QUESTIONS:

MILF rebels?
It is quite common to hear about bloody encounters down south of the Philippines. But the battle that occurred last July 10 between the Marines and the MILF rebels got out of hand when the latter decided to mutilate and behead dead bodies of their aggressors. This being the actual event, it can be said that the hostility level of the MILF rebels towards the soldiers of the government is at its peak. One must be stark raving mad to ever commit such a barbaric act towards a human being.

the government's soldiers?
The government’s soldiers are more aggressive now more than ever after this event. Many among these soldiers may be feeling as such because of their strong desire to avenge their parted and violated comrades. Their aggression may also increase as a reaction to what the rebels did to their fellow Marines.

Muhammad Ameen?
Opposing assertions from media and national security heads, Muhammad Ameen stated that the event was not single-handedly brought about by the Muslim fighters but was actually initiated by the Marines and eventually turned out into a battle. This statement was made to raise awareness that the MILF only responded to the Marines’ attack. It can be sensed that Muhammad Ameen is in the defensive mood in favor of the MILF by giving this statement.

Joel Goltiao?
His statement is more of a petition to uphold law and peace in finding the real perpetrators of the battle. Although he is not expressing any passionate statements of catching those at fault, he is still firm, forceful and hopeful in finding a nonviolent approach to laying down the law.

Norberto Gonzales?
Norberto Gonzales is very fervent in this statement. It goes to show that he will show no mercy to those who did this unacceptable act. As the national security adviser and acting defense chief he is also being certain and authoritative that he will do anything in his power to put the rebels behind bars.

* 1st video?
The message of the first video is that there are many people who does not respect others' human rights but they seem to value theirs so much to the point that they step on others. There are many of the victims of brutally beaten by the people in their community suffer from a great trauma and a crashing self-esteem.
* 2nd video?
The message of the second video is about the large number of people do not that they have human rights or some knew it but do not know how to incorporate it within themselves. You can see in the video the different kinds of human rights. And some people do not know that others' have it too. That everyone of us i equal in terms of human rights, that there is no more privilege or less privilege.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
+ Yes, when the people there realize that all of them have human rights. Right to live peacefully. And when the people there learn how to respect others' human rights, that they will be taking care of each human rights like they care for theirs.

When will all these wars and killings be over?
+ Again, when the parties and other people involve learn that they have equal amount of human rights. And when they decide to act like they respect each others' tights.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:
* MILF rebels?
I suggest to them that they stop what they do, not to stop for fighting for what they think is their rights but to stop thinking that they are fighting for all of them in Mindanao. Most of the people there want to live peacefully and i hope they will respect that. And their issues with the government, i suggest to them to take a sit down meeting nad try to come up with an agreement.
* Government's soldiers?
That they should be careful in battling in Mindanao because not all of them are members of the rebel groups. Most if not all of the people there are suffering because of the war that has been already more than a decade now. i suggest to them that they should despair the innocent people from Basilan.
* People of Basilan
That they cooperate in peace talks because they are the ones who are suffering the most by the war in Basilan. And that they start to stand up for what they believe in like living in a a peaceful place.
* Young people (in general)?
that they learn to stand up for their rights as well as for others' who seem cannot stand up to their own.They should give them support so that they will have the courage to do it on their own. And to those who do not seem to understand others' rights, to start recognizing others' first before their own.

In my opinion both parties have committed a high degree of agression or hostility, both parties won't accept the fact of who started the battle, what is important that they take revenge for what has been done. Neither will both accept their faults but put the blame on each other. If you are going to analyze the situation, in each news that has been gathered and in each characterthat has uttered their lines, what lies deep in their hearts is the cry of vengeance. None of them will stop not until one is buried down the ground with no trace of life. Both parties will continue to create heavy degrees of aggression, both will point and blame at each other for the reasons of the death of their comrades in battle.

No matter what happens both parties will strive for supremacy, it may be sad to look beyond the situation but the fact is, what thrives within these people's hearts are the reasons why they fight, and the reason of many is vengeance. The cry of darkness that consumes each individual corrupting people of good will into heartless beings that hunger for battle. The truth hurts but this is reality...

The message of the first video is basically about Human Right # 5: No torture. The children that are shown in the video are children who have suffered various kinds of tortures from different people, some may be friends, others foes and others may be close relatives. They have been stripped away of their dignity due to the pain they withstand beyond their voices that don't reach the boundaries of aid. They are souls wanting nothing but peace and a life that is free from such violence. It is their right to stand up against societies violent acts against them because this is what they deserve. They have a right that they didn't even ask but is embeded within them, that people ignore most of the time, but no one can take them away from you due to the fact that they are solely yours.

The message of the second video is basically about Human Right # 30: No one can take away your human rights. This video shows all humans rights from the first up to the last giving a clear thought that these rights are embeded within each and everyone of us which no one can take away. These rights are the elements that protect us from the further abuse and negative elements of the society. Regardless of who we are , what status we have in the society, or what others think about us, still they do not have the right to take away our rights because no matter what we have done. We didn't choose to have rights because it is all within us.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:
* by MILF rebels?
I think these rebels have really gone too far and I am certainly sure that they are the ones who initiated the battle. These people are born to kill and they definitely need to be obliterated from this world.
* by the government's soldiers?
The soldiers seem to be very weak for they are always defeated, it may be because the MILf are more ruthless that's why they may be a threat to the soldiers.

What is the tone of the statement of:
* Muhammad Ameen?
Obviously they are accusing the Phil. Marines and they just want to get attention.
* Joel Goltiao?
He wants peace in this world and that the sinful people should be punished.
* Norberto Gonzales?
He definitely wants reformation. I can also sense anger in his words, well who could blame him? The MILF are just too brutal.

* 1st video?
Not anyone in this world deserves to be tortured, for every slash and whip takes our dignity away. Specially the children, their mind are still innocent and every abuse done to them may cause trauma and abnormal behavior as they grow up.

* 2nd video?
Everyone deserves the 30 Human rights. Not just the rich, the bright and the powerful.. we are all human and therefore we are all equal in God's eyes.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
No. For me, Mindanao is the scariest place in the Philippines, when i heard the word "Mindanao" i automatically think about Abu Sayaffs, bombing, terrorism etc.. War in that place just woudn't stop. You could never find peace in that place.

When will all these wars and killings be over?
It will be over when everyone start respecting each other.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:
* MILF rebels?
They should be exiled from this country. Or if possible, they could start believing in God and His teachings.
* government's soldiers?
Do your responsibilities. It is your duty to protect the people and stop the MILf from rebelling.
* people of Basilan?
They should migrate to a safer place, no one deserves to be in such dangerous habitat.
* young people (in general)?
We, the young people, should start taking action on how to stop Milf rebels. And to start this maybe we could stop arguing with our family, say sorry to our enemies and bring peace to this world.

* 1st video? The message of the first video is children afraid of other people because the people there were tortured and they have the human right not to be tortured.
* 2nd video? The message of the second video says that people have 30 rights that was already given to us since we are born. We may not use it if we do not know it. We cannot simply buy them. Though some abuse them and ignore them.

There was no peace in Basilan. I think these wars and killings will not be over, unless the people will cooperate for the common good of their people and our people.

* MILF rebels? They should not be rebel if there is nothing wrong.
* government's soldiers? They should have a peace talk why did the others rebelled against them.
* people of Basilan? They should focus on their island more, because Basilan is a resourceful island and they should establish cooperation and peace to unite and develop their people and place.
* young people (in general)? All of us have our own rights. We have the right to enjoy this.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels? they were provoked by the government soldiers to a violent encounter
* by the government's soldiers? one MILF chairman allegedly led his men to attack the marines first and now they are trying to find the ones responsible for the beheading of the soldiers through peaceful means

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen? defensive
* Joel Goltiao? trying to sound calm and neutral as possible
* Norberto Gonzales? vengeful

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? any kind of torture violates our rights and dignity as human beings
* 2nd video? no one can take our rights away...it is already with us the moment we were conceived and stays with us until we die

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
Yes, if people would start trying to understand one another and make certain agreements that would satisfy both groups.

When will all these wars and killings be over?
If people would start opening their minds into things and if they'd start respecting/understanding each other. Another is if they would stop using violence as a means of seemingly solving the problems even if in truth it doesn't.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels? let the goverment know your ideas or explain it to them so they'd have an understanding of what you wanted to achieve and perhaps make some adjusments/agreements. violence won't make things better.
* government's soldiers? avoid provoking the MILF rebels and as much as possible try talking to them into agreement
* people of Basilan? maybe it would be best if they'd move somewhere else?or at least properly educate their kids about the rights of humans
* young people (in general)? try getting involved and help voice out such social problems to the goverment

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?

The 1st video tells us that there should be 'No Torture'. We all have the right to be
safe and free from harm. We should not hurt other people. We should not strip them
of their dignity. We should respect each other by not hurting other people.

* 2nd video?

The 2nd video clearly tells us that 'No One Can Take Away Your Human Rights'.
Each one of us is given the same human rights as everyone else. We are all equal. So
there is no reason for us to violate or ignore other people's rights.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.

I think peace has a place anywhere, it just depends on the people living in that area if they really want it or not. Like in Basilan, if the MILF really wants peace in their area, then they should have not done those gruesome acts. They should have also cooperated on the peace talks to resolve the problems and achieve PEACE.

When will all these wars and killings be over?

The wars and killings will only be over if they really want it to be over. In this case, I think the MILF doesn't want it to be over because they are the ones provoking the government to continue with the war.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?

Teach them about human rights, and let them watch the two videos too. It's as if they don't know anything about human rights because of the gruesome things that they do.

* government's soldiers?

For me, the government and the soldiers are only protecting other people's human rights from being violated by the MILF. That's why we have laws. And the MILF clearly violated it. So I think the government's war against them is justifiable. The government and the soldiers should just continue protecting other people's human rights.

* people of Basilan?

The government should not let them be abused and not let their human rights be violated by the MILF. They should also cooperate with the government by pointing out where the MILF are hiding so they can finally attain peace in their area.

* young people (in general)?

I think that young people should already be taught and informed about human rights. Let them understand those things while they are still young so they can live by it.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
they were abusive and harsh towards the marines and didn't think of killing many people just to rebel against the government and they involved people who are innocent.
* by the government's soldiers?
they soldiers were pitiful because they were tortured and harassed by the MILF. they were just protecting the government and they were killed and tortured.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
the tone of his statement was like the marines started first and so they need to fight back in order to live. He is accusing the marines and he was like they deserve what they need and he was trying to avoid that they are also at fault.
* Joel Goltiao?
they are determined to implement the peace in our country and they will catch those people who are responsible for the death of those marines.
* Norberto Gonzales?
He is really going to find justice for the marines who were killed. He wants to find the people responsible for their deaths. He was eager to find out who abused those marines and killed them with no mercy.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?
we shouldn't abuse children just to teach them a lesson. There are other ways to teach them other than abusing them with punches and bruises. We should not torture them because it will have a psychological damage to themselves
* 2nd video?
the video was about our rights. we have our own rights, we do not need to ask permission to have, we just have it. no one can take our human rights away from us.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
no, definitely there would be no peace in basilan unless the rebels will surrender and cooperate with the government, there will be peace over in mindanao. Since they always want to argue and disagree with the government, there will be no peace and it will always be a place of danger to everyone.

When will all these wars and killings be over?
It will not be over unless all of the people would be killed. they always want attention and the power to control the people in the country. They want money and power over the nation. I don't think that they only want the country to be in order because if they want to have a stable government they should also do something in order to have a peaceful country.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?
well, they have their rights to do what they want but instead of making trouble and killing other people they should just make something wise out of it, to help develop our country.
* government's soldiers?
they were doing their best to protect us and the government from the harm but they should be also aware of the danger that they are going through. They have their rights to be killed or kill other person since they are soldiers but they should be careful of their actions.
* people of Basilan?
they should unite in harmony even though they want to kill every people. we can't be in peace because we know that anytime people would start a war or hostaging people.
* young people (in general)?
we should not abuse the rights that we have. even though it is for free we should also take extra precaution on the things that we do.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?

The level or degree shown by the MILF rebels is very high since they got provoked and fought back against the battle initiated by the Philippine marines. They even did something unhumanely to 10 of the bodies of the Philippine marines which I could say could be going over the top.

* by the government's soldiers?

While the level of aggression shown by the government's soldiers is high as well since why would they provoke and initiate a battle with the MILF rebels. They even went on with the battle instead of stopping which even more provoked the MILF rebels.
What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?

The tone is as if he is taking sides or bias since it is like he is saying that it was the Philippine marine's fault.

* Joel Goltiao?

The tone is as if he want's justice for the Philippines marines who were beheaded.

* Norberto Gonzales?

The tone is determination and some anger since he really want's to catch the MILF rebels who were responsible for beheading the Philippines marines. Anger because he finds beheading is not normal or inhumane in this world today.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?

The message of the first video is that we should not torture children even though we think that it is how we discipline them. They should not be hurt since it would not hurt them only physically but also emotionally and psychologically. It may even "strip them of their dignity" as one kid said which is something that is very painful to a human being.

* 2nd video?

The message of the second videos is that no one can take away our human rights from us. No matter who we are, where we are, how old we are, or even what kind of person we are, our human rights belong to us and we are free to practice them. Nobody can deprive us from those rights since our human rights were given to us for a reason.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.

No I think there is no PEACE in Basilan because the MILF are there who is a separatist group or in other words rebels. Along with the MILF are the Abu Sayyaf who is also a separatist group. As long as there are rebels like the Abu Sayyaf and MILF, trouble can happen since they will keep on fighting for what they believe in and what to them is right. There wouldn't be cooperation and respect to ideas.

When will all these wars and killings be over?

The war and killings will be over when everybody respects each other's beliefs and ideas. There should be cooperation with others. And instead of fighting we should think about making a better world so we can develop. We may even last longer than we think if the world is in peace. Learning to cooperate with others is the answer and we should learn to respect what others belive in.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?

I would teach them a lesson that what they have done to the Philippine marine's bodies is wrong. I would try to let them understand that they should not have fought back or get provoked since it will only make things worse. They violated some rights which is really bad.

* government's soldiers?

I would teach them that they should not provoke or initiate battles since it wouln't bring anything good to both sides. If ever it was really their fault, then they should learn from their mistakes. Through those provoking, they may have violated some rights.

* people of Basilan?

I would teach them that even though they have different beliefs or views in life, they should respect others as well. I would try to convince them to cooperate with us in order to stop those killings and wars.

* young people (in general)?

Young people such as myself should start to understand the importance of human rights and should practice respecting and following them. As human beings we were given these rights for a reason so we can make things even to those around us. Learning about the rights in a young age will help us become a better person and would give us a better future.

Level or Degree of Aggression or Hostility Committed

MILF Rebels

They've commit a very inhuman act.

According to the ABS-CBN news,
they attacked the Marines and initiated an almost 10 hour gun battle
which there are 14 Marines are killed and 10 of them
were beheaded and tortured.

There should be a reason to what they did,
obviously, they're really angry wiht the Marines.
The reason behind it,
we still don't know.

I feel that I don't have the right to judge them
because I don't know the real reason
behindthe killings and beheadings
because we might not know,
Marines might have done something bad
that made the MILF
do this things.

But, what they did was really bad especially the beheadings and the torturings.

Government Soldiers

The level of aggression they made is just right because their intention is to protect themselves and fight for what is right.

They might have killed some of the MILF members but it's justice.
It's better to kill the enemy rather than be killed by your enemy.
It's a matter of who's faster to target the enemy and shoot the enemy well.

But the overall rule is to kill nobody.
At the end of the day,
all of them done the wrong act which is killing their neighbors.

Tone of Statements

Muhammad Ameen

He is the Secretariat of the head of the MILF.
He was saying that they did not initiated the attack,
that the Marines started it
that there was no ambush
just a legitimate 8 hour encounter.

He was saying the opposite of what the ABS-CBN news aired.
He was denying thae fact that MILF attacked the soldiers and beheaded them.

The tone of his statement was a denial to the news that appeared.

Joel Goltiao

He was saying that he is hoping for peaceful efforts in putting behind bars those who beheaded the Marines.

He want peaceful environment and for the MILF members pay for what they have done.

The tone of his statement is peaceful.
He wants justice for the beheadings done.

Norberto Gonzales

He said that whoever did the beheadings will be punished and catch them wherever they may be.
He also said that they have no place here in the country and what they did is not acceptable nowadays because it's too barbaric and uncivilized.

His tone was quite angry because he really want to catch those people who did the killings and beheadings and put them in jail or throw them away from the country.

Definitely, no one would want those kind of acts.
Not a civilized one.
Might as well, just throw them far away from our country so that our safety wouldn't be at risk.

Message

First Video

This video is about the violation of the 5th human right which is "no torture".
People of all ages get to abused by those abusive people.

There are lots of sorts of abusing.

This video shows physical abuse and torturing people by hitting them, punching, kicking, etc.

Second Video

This video is about the Human Rights.
The 30th Human Right is that "No one can take away your human rights"
Wherever may we go,
we always carry with us our human rights.

No one can take it away from us.
We have human rights no matter what happens.
Some people ignore our human rights
but they can never take it away from us.

If we feel that someone violated you,
check if that person violated one of your human rights.
If he did,
then he owes you an apology
or maybe you can sue him/her.

* Peace will always have a place anywhere. Even in Basilan, Mindanao, we must not lose hope because I believe we can solve problems no matter how big is it, we can still solve it by means of peaceful communicating to each other and by giving ways for one another.

* All wars and killings will be over if people learned how to control their emotions, talk things over and compromise to one another. The secret is to be open to one another, is one feels that she/he was offended by a person, she/he should tell that person that she/he was offended by what she/he did; tell to that person what you don't like and hear her/his side then make a peaceful agreement that would stop the fight.

There will always be a way to end all of these negative things.
It's just a matter of controlling emotions, talking things over
and compromising to one another.

Solutions to the:

MILF Rebels

They should change their means of letting the government know what they don't like.
They shouldn't be killing people or doing such things that are inhuman.
They should control their emotions because that's what makes them fired up and do things that are not likeable.
They should think if there are other people that suffers because of what they do.
They should know that the people that they murder has families,
just think if it happens to them,
that would be very tragic.

Government Soldiers

They should not abuse the power that they have as a government soldier.
They should not provoke people to be mad at them that often times lead to unwanted situations.
They should stay humble and respectful to everyone, no matter what age, gender and religion of that person is.
They are the protectors of every Filipino,
they should make themselves a good image to everybody.

Basilan People

People in this place are mostly Moslems.
What I can say is, let's communicate.
Let's talk and listen.
And compromise things.
We should not fight over religion.
Let's unite and make a progress to our country.
After all,
we are all Filipinos
and in one land.
Nobody would help us but our own countrywomen.

Young People (in general)

I understand that we are young,
that we "mapusok"
we often do stupid things
that would make us laugh
after a while
when we grow up.

We have a long way to go
Think of the things that we do
think of the consequences of what we do
it's not wrong to have fun
but...
having fun comes with responsibility
there's nothing wrong in having fun,
just don't make fun of others
that would make that person feel humiliated or violated

be responsible while young.

The agression of the mILF is really at its maximum!! It's too much!! To behead a fellow human! It's so wrong! What are they animals?

The agression of the military soldiers is understandable. They were trained to apprehend the MILF! So its there job to do it!

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?

He's tone would have to be very extreme! Probably because he wanted the government to understand their goals and to be recognized. It's still wrong though! There's always a peaceful way in solving things!

* Joel Goltiao?

He's tone would probably very nervous about the actions committed to be able to say such a thing. Probably he doesn't want the government's action to be severe that's why he said that!

* Norberto Gonzales?

I understand his feelings! He wanted justice done! Those acts shouldn't be ignored! Probably he's boiling with anger at the action done.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?

The messege is clearly stated. It's to treat people with respect and to treat them how you want them to treat you! It's just so wrong to hurt and conflict pain and suffering to innocent people! What are they animals?

* 2nd video?

The message i think is that all the rights applies to everyone! We have them! It's ours! As the video stated no one can take away those rights or violate them because it's ours to begin with!

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

There will never be peace unless they both come into an agreement and accept each other. The wars will never end unless they come to a peaceful means or at least one of them admits they're wrong!

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?

Actions from the government can only be settled through violence since the MILF won't listen. I just hope that the MILF would put God in their hearts and turn themselves in.

* government's soldiers?

They are doing what they are told so i guess after watching this video it really doesn't matter because what the soldiers are doing is for the greater good!

* people of Basilan?

They should take actions themselves and do what's right! Give information on the whereabouts of the rebels because they deserve to be judged and justice must be the victor!

* young people (in general)?

They should keep in mind the rights of others and also to know what's going on around them and do what they can to support the country to make the future a better place.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels? -the rebels are very immoral.
* by the government's soldiers? -shocked and surprise with the attack of the rebels.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen? -Defensive and it's like his telling that it is not his fault with what happen to the marines.
* Joel Goltiao? -Very hypocrite.
* Norberto Gonzales? -Very unappropriate for a Defense chief.

What is the message of the:

VIDEO1

Violence is very usual in the world that we are revolving right now. May it be physically, spiritually and/or dignity wise. Everywhere you and I witness violence that has been happening Almost in all the news that has been reported or been written would constitute into violence.

This video represents the violent acts that is being experienced by children. I am not a fan of violence per se but i cannot accept the fact that children violence is happening. How can a normal human being do those kinds of things to an innocent child? Maybe the world has so much things that needs improvement but i think it is wise to concentrate in child violence. it would not only hurt them but with these kinds of actions being done to them, it would eventually destroy their future.

VIDEO2

Obviously, human rights are very essential to every single person. As have been said in the video human rights are ours and no one can take it away from us. Also, in the video, it said that some people would try to ignore this rights. That is why i think every person in this world has the responsibility to protect his/her own rights. You should protect yours and help protect others. that is surely what the lord wants from us. Just to justify my belief concerning this topic, i present to you my motto in life: "Do not do unto others what you do not want to be done to you.".

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
o The MILF rebels issued severe hostility amongst fellow men that could already be considered morally horrendous.
* by the government's soldiers?
o The same wtih the government's soldiers, they too were hostile with the MILF.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
o He was defensive in the partaking of his group amongst the war that have happened. It could never be a viable excuse as to such as to preventing war with another bloodshed. If the Marine soldiers did initiate the frontal assault on them then it is only proper to have a peaceful rational peace talk rather than engage in a violent gratitious killing spree and run amok just for vengeance to linger within their mindset.
* Joel Goltiao?
o He did restate about the peaceful talks in accordance within the vigilant group responsible for the abominable murder or the soldiers. It is inexorable for the government not to bring up justice within the said murders, but it is only proper to establish a peaceful negotiation among the MILF members responsible for the killings.
* Norberto Gonzales?
o Being irrational and jumping conclusions and most of all, making overgeneralized solutions is what is causing havoc and misunderstanding to the world today. It is not proper for him to accuse them of barbaric ways wherin the governent have been responsible of some of the most brutal, unmerciful, injustified killings in the history of our country. He should have just made a decent comment about the precedings that would occur within the process of knowing the perpetuators of the said crime. Not blasphemise and add malicious intentions about the said group.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?
o No torture, no person has the right to be tortured for no viable reason.
* 2nd video?
o We all have rights, and within these rights... it is one's right to have these rights, and with those rights no one can ever take them away from you. It's yours.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?
o They should be reprimanded in a peaceful way. They should either submit to their crimes. If their conscience does not bother them, in which in a very plausible way that is improbable to happen. They should just ammend for their sins in very possible humane way. Some people do deserve to be forgiven, even if they are mass murderers under the code of a certain conduct, they still deserve to be forgiven.
* government's soldiers?
o I just pray for their family. It's already happened and the government can only suffice the need of the soldier's family.
* people of Basilan?
o They should pray, that whatever circumstance that would come along their way, they should pray. Still, hope is the only thing that binds their people to have salavation and attain peace despite the recent happenings that have happened in Basilan. And I too, wish that they achieve the peace they have been longing all this time. War is a testament of how human weakness succumbs to our people, and with it comes the strength of people who desire to fight for their rights... their happiness and their lives.
* young people (in general)?
o We all deserve peace within ourselves, we should know that we cannot initiate peace into this world that we live in if we do not have peace within ourselves.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* by the government's soldiers?

MILF REBELS

they commited a inhuman act

the Milf had a war since the start of their organization, war in mindanao had to do with their organization.

They did not just kill the Governements sholdiers bur also they also tortured the soldiers, worst thing is they removed the head of some soldiers.

They claimed that the government's soldiers started the war, but for me these soldiers are trianed to capture peacefully the milf rebels i dont believe that these soldiers started the war , from the start we alreasy know who are the bad guys.

GOVERNEMNT'S SOLDIERS

These soldiers were killed in the line of duty. is their job to protect the country. i dont believe that the Governement soldiers started the war or started the battle. it is their job to protect the country. i think it started that the milf are refusing to surrender but they had a gun battle. unfortunately they losed. these soldiers should be heroes and should be given military honors. they were killed in the line of duty just to protect us from the MILF rebels.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
* Joel Goltiao?
* Norberto Gonzales?

Muhammad Ameen

the tone of the staement of Muhhammad Ammen is that the Philippine soldiers started the fight and its just a clean fight and their are no beheadings that had happend.

for me this man cannot be trusted, for me he is just denying that th philippine soldiers started the fight. but they already killed dozens of our soldiers.

Joel Goltiao

he is hoping that the milf rebels will go to jail or be killed. it is for the justice for the soldiers who faught for the country.

Norberto Gonzales

it is not acceptable that these Milf soldiers will just get away. he assures that these milf soldiers will be captures and he said that he will get them

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?
* 2nd video?

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

The message in the 1st Video is their experiences in tortures, they have the right that they are not to be tortured. it is their right or freedom not to be hurt. it is their human right. especially for kids.

The Message of the 2nd Video is about human rights. human rights cannot be bought or applied for them or ask permission to have it, we have are own human right. no matter who you are were you from you have your own human right. some people might violete your right so you should fight for your right.

--- there is always a place for peace in everything. Peace will take place in basilan if our government will continue to have hope in having peace in our country. peace will start in every person. they should start on them first. if the Basilan people will not support these milf their organizaiton will fall down. Wars and killings will be over if their our no people will remain in the Milf organization the worst solution is to kill every milg soldiers so that war in mindanoa will be over.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?

i can offer that the milf should be tortured and be removed from their rights, because they abused many people and tortured many people, even if it is wrong they should experience and be punished the same way that they do to their prisonors.

* government's soldiers?

the best solutions for these soldiers is to remember the good things that theyve done for the country. and for the soldiers who are going to revenge for the soldiers who are killed in war. they should remember the human rights of the people. they should take the milf rebels to the proper authorities

* people of Basilan?

they should have peace and it will always start from them. they have the right to live in a peacefull life the authorities should help them have a peaceful life. the best solution is to send soldiers for more security.

* young people (in general)?

the best solutions for the yough people is that if they are abused the authorities should help these yough people to have their rights and should help them.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* It seems that they are very furious to the Marines. It is maybe because of something the Marines did to them. the level of aggression is very high that they killed 14 marines; beheaded 10 of them.
* by the government's soldiers?
* According to Muhammad Ameen, head of the MILF Secretariat the fighting was initiated and provoked by the Marines. Maybe there is something that the Marines did for them to be treated that way..

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
* It seems like she is trying to protect and clean their name..
* Joel Goltiao?
* He is trying to attain justice by getting those who are responsoble fo the beheading of the marines.
* Norberto Gonzales?
* He is does not agree to what the MILF did, beheading the marines. We all have the right to live.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?
* People nowadays keep ignoring the rights of others, like the right to be away from violence.
* 2nd video?
* We all have rights and it cannot be taken from us in any way.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?
* Be aware of the right of others to live.
* government's soldiers?
* They must respect others whatever the situation of their life is.
* people of Basilan?
* They must take care of themselves and try to observe the rights of everyone.
* young people (in general)?

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels? to the highest level. they've killed too many people. 10 people and the even beheaded and mutiliated them after killing them. they're like killing animals. what they did is mortal sin.
* by the government's soldiers? i think they were just protecting those innocent citizens who cannot protect themselves from these people.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen? i'm not sure if he's telling the truth because if there's really no ambush then how can he explain what just happened.
* Joel Goltiao? it's justice. he is talking about justice here. he wanted those marines to find their peace by putting those responsible of the beheading put behind bars.
* Norberto Gonzales? i don't know what exactly did he meant by what he said. but im sure it's for everyones safety that's why they wanted to catch them and put them to jail.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? it's talking about human dignity, about human rights. people try to violate them. like those kids in the video. some people torture these innocent children. they dont even know why they're being tortured by those they trust and people around them.

Explain. i think no more! see it futuristically! even the church cant do anything..even the goverment show do nothing...even the basilan rebels are showing no mercy no more...i was just waiting that God punish them all and refresh their minds..i hope so God do so.
When will all these wars and killings be over? when all human minds are set into nagative thoughts when all human minds having no rights antymore, because in this right we are receive is the more the crimes are increase..when we add more peace talk the more the war are being up! theres no more hope! but there what we call judgement day! so God show his hand and vanish them all!

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

What level or degree of agression or hostility Committed

MILF soldiers- the level of agression that they have shown is very high because of the immoral things that they have done to the bodies of the soldiers. and it is very brutal and inhumane, they treat those people as if they were animals.

Government soldiers- the level of agression is lower compared to the MILF soldiers. they just fight for the country and they just followed the order of the government. but they should also avois doing things that are not odered by the government.

What is the tone of the statement of:

Muhammad Ameed- the statement shows that they are inoccent as if they were very peacefull and as if they did not do anything wrong

Joel Goltiao- the tone is sad and he is asking for peace for both party

Norberto Gonzales- the tone is very angry, he is threatening the MILF because of the brutal things that they have done to the soldiers.

What is the meassage of:

!st Video- the message of the video is about the abuse of human being or the battering of child and teens. it shows that as a person people should treat us with a dignity, for us to be respected and to be loved. not to be abused physically, mentally and emotionally. and thats the video is trying to convey to the viewers.

2nd Video- the video tells about our rights as a human or it tells about the dignity of a human. that dignity is in every person and that dignity cannot be buy or taken away. and that is the message of the video, no one can take away our human rights.

Has Peace a place in Basilan? explain. when will all these wars and kilings be over

right now there is still no peace in mindanao particularly in basilan, the events and circumstances that are happening to those places are still negative. most of the time there are brutal things that are happening in those places, war is still going on and the rebels are still fighting against the government.

for me it would take a very long time before these war and killings be over, the things that might happen may become worst if they would still keep on fighting with religions and democracy of the people in Mindanao. The place will only be peacefull if they would talk or have an agreement to promulgate peace and order with the rebels or the MILF.

After watching the 2 videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

MILF rebels- we all have human rights and dignity, all they have to do is respect the people and reunite themselves with the filipino people.

Government soldiers- they should follow the government but they should also think of what is right and fair to promote justice and equality to the filipino

People of basilan- since they are inoccent, they should promote peace and avoid doing things that may affect the relationship of the government and the people of mindanao

Young people- all we can do is to promote peace and respect other people especially their religion beliefs and culture. and thats the best thing that we can to them, to stop the war and to gain everyones respect.

Message:
1st video: The video of Human Right: No torture is actually every one's right of freedom. No one can tell you what to do and barricade you. You should not let anyone push you around and tell you where you are supposed to be. Live life as you want it.
2nd video: The video says that no one can take away your human right. It's actually for every human to know what they should do. It's called human rights because it's your choice and freedom. No one should dictate you of your actions.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan?
When will all these wars and killings be over?
Yes, there is. Basilan is just another ordinary place, the difference is that unruly and self-centered people stayed there. Those people are inconsiderate and listen only to what they want to hear.They don't care about other people and their lives. They care about which is most advantage to them. This war will end only if all of them are dead and beheaded. I said that there is still PEACE in Basilan because I am hoping that the word PEACE will conquer the nation. I am hoping that people will realize that their lives is as important as the one they took.

Solutions I can offer to:
MILF rebels:
you cannot change what you are against, in fact, it will only get worse. people want to be on top, so whoever you're fighting with will find a way to get back at you. you, your family and a million more Filipino's lives will be at risk because of your selfishness.
government soldiers:
you guys are brutal and boastful. what is a little negotiation? open your eyes and ears to what the rebel is fighting and crying for. life is not all about you. instead of planning something to suppress the rebels, why dont you try planning to what will benefit all.
people of Basilan:
do not be scared, you have your rights to fight but dont exagerate. you dont want to be one of those rebels fighting for stupid reasons.
young people:
we are the next generation. we know what happened to our nation. will you just sit around and immitate this foolishness? we need to open our eyes and ears and start making a difference. step by step, we'll reach the top. we should learn from the stupid mistakes of the adults. they are idiots, their minds are crowded by greed. step up, be a FILIPINO

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?

what they did were very extreme and inhumane. they treated the people like animals. they've forgatten that they too are human beings created by God.

* by the government's soldiers?

there was still violence but not as violent as what the MILF people did to the marines. they just want justice for their fellow men who died during the battle.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?

that the marine soldiers started it all. even if its so obvious that what they did is so brutal, in his statement, he is like washing his hands for his fellow men.

* Joel Goltiao?

he wants justice for the soldiers who died and wants to get back to those people who are responsible for brheading the 10 marine soldiers.

* Norberto Gonzales?

there is disgust and disappointment because the fight was not fair. he wants to get back at these people because they were brutally killed and the fact that they were killed by beheading them. it just not right.

QUESTIONS:
What is the message of the:

* 1st video?

taking advantage of people and violating each ones human rights and privacy. its about violating ones freedom. we should not abuse and hurt people because each and everyone of us has our human rights.

* 2nd video?

that no one could ever take away ones human rights because we own it. each of one of us has it hand has the right to perfom it because it is our right,. we shopuld not allow anyone to take it wawy from us because it violates our rights us human persons and as individuals.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

yes if only people would listen to each others wants and desires and can fix it through good talking and not through violence because viloence only urges the people from both sides to fight harder beacuse they want victory and their intention is not for peace anymore but who is the greatest and who is more powerful. they have to settle this through a peaceful manner and if only people from both sides would cooperate and see each other as human persons and not as enemys.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?

offer them ears because they want something and they want to be heard. we just need to listen and with this, we can talk about it in a subtle manner.

* government's soldiers?

remind them they should be the ones who should be understanding because they are christians. they should also learn how to listen.

* people of Basilan?

cooperation is needed and remind them that selfishness has no place in the world most especially violence. that things cannot be settled through violence.

* young people (in general)?

this may serve as a lesson to them and remind them that violence only adds fuel to the fire. we can never settle things through violence. we need calmness and time. we need to listen to each other and give way to each others wants and desires.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* The degree of hostility committed by the MILF rebels was one that is unjustifiable by the reason they are giving. It may have been the case that marines were the ones who started the encounter but the beheading of the 10 soldiers was not at all necessary. Respect should have been extended to the slain marines.
* by the government's soldiers?
* The situatiion is not really clear as to who started the encounter but i think the marines did what they had to do. It is their duty to defend against these rebels and i think the marines died in honor.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
* His statement seemed to me like he was trying to blame the marines for the incident. He was trying to say that if the marines did not start shooting at them then they would have not shot back.
* Joel Goltiao?
* He sounded hopefull that the beheaders will be caught and put to justice in a peaceful way, but i doubt that the MILF will give up theri own people to take responsibility for the incident.
* Norberto Gonzales?
* He seemed furious with his statement, it seems that he is angry at what the MILF rebels did and is determined to catch the behaeders and put them to justice.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? The first video wants us to be aware of child abuse, it shows different kids being abused
* 2nd video? The second video wants us to be aware of our human rights and our right to practice it.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain. I dont think there is place for peace in basilan because of the numerous differences they have with our government. The war over there has been going on for a very long time and it seems to me the only solutions possible are A. give up basilan and give them what they want or B. The government completely wipes out the rebels so that the fighting will stop. When one of these conditions is achieved then maybe "peace" will have its place.
When will all these wars and killings be over?
The wars and killings will be over when one of the groups gets what they want, either the rebels get their land or the government defeats them and wipes them out and regains control of the land.
After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels? They should be punished for their violation of human rights with regard to their behaeding of the marines.
* government's soldiers? should also be aware of the human rights so that they may abide by it and follow it even if they are dealing with "enemies"
* people of Basilan? They should protect their human rights at all costs.
* young people (in general)? Young people should learn about what their human rights are, so that they are aware of what things are ok and not ok to do, and also so they may learn how to respect the rights of others

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels? They try to keep their power in the philippines and that's not right. In the country, they only have one power for that country but they try to fight with the government for their wants. They want more and more if the government grant everything what they want and they do everything for that if the government doing nothing for it.
* by the government's soldiers? The government's soldiers have to keep protect people from MILF and they have to negotiation with them for the country's security.The government keep their eyes on them.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen? He carried his point to that happen was just a coincidencely. It can help to make understand them but if that reasons are not clear, it could be the statement of a argument.
* Joel Goltiao? He doesn't want a war he just want peace between them.
* Norberto Gonzales? He is strong and he doesn't afraid of nothing. He definitely not accept their situation.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? people who give pain to peoole who has no reason for that so they get hurt and their minds too.
* 2nd video? Human rights foreverybody who live in the world. we have to respect for each of them.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain. No. there is no peace. Because, people kill people without any reason or if there is a reason they can't kill people easily they have to know they also human being same with like him or herself. They take a person away forcibly and they attack the other place or a group. People can't live in there in safety.

When will all these wars and killings be over? When the government exclude Mindanao form the Philippines.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels? They afflict people using their power.
* government's soldiers? They control their power but if that's a lot, it could be a civil war in the country.
* people of Basilan? They have to respect human rights. Because they have some effects when they kidnap people for their wants.
* young people (in general)? Young people also people and they are our hope. We have to protect them and watch them from the dangers.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? cruel treatment is the worst and must be disappeared in the society for the Peace.
* 2nd video? Every where ,whatever you do, and whoever you are ,always the human's right is together with us.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

- there is also have a peace. i mean, all of the basilians are not the terrorist. just some of the basilians are. and even in the war places, there is also peace. because, whoever want's to do destroy the peace, then other oppoisted groups will protect the peace.
And when the GOD will re-birth to us, then the killing and war will be stopped.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels? - whatever and whenever they making the killing or war or the trobles, they will say that it is the peace of themselves, but I think that is not a peace, it is the desire so they should be educated that which is the peace and what is the goals of te peace.
* government's soldiers? - even their(MILF) a opposited groups to the government, their a same Filipinos. Meaning, one of the same citizens in the philippines. so between the government soldiers and MILF should be respected what their wants. so lastly must be stopped the war and killing each other then must known that their a same Filipinos before the shoot each other. and for the peaces.
* people of Basilan? if the killing is going on, do not panic and should be cooperated each others among the basilian people and MILF and Government soliders. for the peace in the philippines, and the government mustly make a solutions for the peace as soon as possible
* young people (in general)? the UN must be help and UNICEF also be the one of the helping system. so in this time the Philippine's civil war is not the one's country's problem. So it is should be treated by universal problems.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels? They killed and beheaded marines, nobody gave them the right to behead people.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?- He was very defensive
* Joel Goltiao?- He was very protective of his group
* Norberto Gonzales?- Defensive of the killed people\

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? The 1st video tell about physical abuse and torture, that it is part of human right not to be hurt and torture. People cannot take that right away from anybody.
* 2nd video?The 2nd video tells about knowing one's human rights and to know when to fight for your rights. It informs people of what others can and cannot deprive from them.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain. Well, as of now, we havn't heard much about the killings that occured, comapre before.. they hostages and killed people, Basilan is a place of chaos if you ask me. I guess its not yet over.

When will all these wars and killings be over? I believe that a world of peace (completely not misunderstanding and chaos) is impossible, I mean . we are here in this world for a purpose, we do not learn if we do not experience these things.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels? Well, they are not supposed to kill or even worse behead a person, I think that its really wrong, but we must accept that they are rebels and that they dont care. the know what is right from wrong, yet they chose to do what is wrong because they believe that it is one way of proclaiming their human rights of speech
* government's soldiers? if they clashed with these people, there will be more fighting instead of peace.
* people of Basilan? Just back off
* young people (in general)? Do not be afraid to fight for your rights as a person, it doesn't matter if they are rich or even bigger than you. The main point is eveybody is given this right since birth. al long as you do not deprive others or their rights, its okay to exercise yours fully.big grin

The degree of agression commited by the MILF was so worst knowing the effects of their actions would be the the lost of lives. They dont have dignity nor conscience because they didn't think of the outcome nor the damages it will bring. It was so hard and devastating.smile For the government soldiers it's their job to protect the Filipino citizens so they must do their work. They must strenghtened their forces in order to capture the criminals or the suspects. There's no need for them to rest it's a matter of life and death.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
* Joel Goltiao?
* Norberto Gonzales?

Muhhammad Ameen
it was shocking he pointed out the persons who
was behind the attack. ther's no assurance
of the accusation.

Joel Goltiao
I definitely agree on his statements
we must have peace in our
country for us to attain success.

Norberto Gonzales
I hope that they will do
everything to resolve the cases
many lives were wasted it should be paid by the criminals

the fist video was all about tortures
and badness of the people the rape
the children were crying because
of the pain they were undergoing.

The 2nd video was about the human rights of the people.
we must possess all of these rights. the only solution for that is to
respect each other and let's not violate each other human rights though we cannot change the society nowadays.

Miscommunication and misunderstanding led 2 groups into one big agreession. The intention of government soldiers is to question the MILF about the kidnapping case of Father Bossi. But it turns out to a one big disaster. The MILF rebels had a big lost, the lost of other member will made a one big of a hell disaster while the government soldiers lost members and heroes but not only their heroes but also our heroes whose only intention is to help our community and to help a person who is really innocent about the situation. It is so sad to know that we lost our heroes. taht made the degree of aggression or gistility made by MILF is big.

Muhammad Ameen tried to be calm as much as posible becuase the accident was initiated and provoked by the Philippine Marines.

Joel Goltiao wants to have justice about what happen he wants to be brave and hoping that the poeple who are responsible about the incident will take responsible about it. He was sad and angry because of the beheading of the marines, because there are no reason to do such thing , there are no reason why they nedd to make such inhumane act.

Norberto Gonzalles shows no mercy to those people who killed the Marines and he wants to show how he was so devastated about the incident he wants to show the MILF that they dont have any rights to torture people that don't have any rights to kill people so they dont have any rights in this country.

Question number 2

Video number 1 wants to imply that we dont have no rights to torture people we dont have any rights to hurt other person no matter what because every people have a right to live freely and have dignity and no other people have a right to crush that dignity.

Video number 2 wants to show that we have all rights, it can never been bought and we cant never take it away. our rights are simply inborn we have 30 rights that we have since we were born. We are born with it then we will die with rights and dignity

Peace is hard to find in basilan because basilan is a place wherein rebels hide but the community who lives in basilan have the right to live in peace and have the right to live freely.Wars will be over depends on the people it self because we have rights to choose, and some people choose to be rebels then the only thing that we have is the right to fight for justice. and seek for peace.

MILF rebels need to stop what they are doing, they need to think back and realize that what they are doing si really bad and face the consequence about what they did. And the government soldiers need to communicate and try to talk to the rebels peacefully to avoid hurting other people. And people in basilan needs to fight with their rights and help the government soldiers to have gain their peace. And young people need to understand the fact that we have all rights and be aware about the situation.

for me the level of hostility by the milf were inhuman or unconstitutional granted that there was war against the government and them but it was unnecesary for them to behead the victims of their warfare. a fallen enemy should still be given respect. and in beheading those corpse signifies that these peole are no longer fighting for a sound cause but are really intending to destroy and kill.in the part of the government or for that matter whichever part there level of hostility was called for given the particular circumstance though one thing wrong about it is where they placed injustice when they started beheading fallen enemies.

the tone of muhammad ameen was very accusatory when both of the government's and his side should be blamed for the incident.Galtiao's statement strongly suggested that the tone he was taking is a tone seeking for justice and seeking for the right kind of consequence for what they have done. and norberto gonzales's tone was the tone of a vengeful tone that suggested a sense of injustice also in dealing with those people involved. there is never a reason to have the right to have vengeance and kill another person to equate what the other has done.

the video part:

1st video: there is nobody in the world that should or have the right to hurt oneself. no matter how grave or how little the reason maybe there is no one in the world who can hurt the other. no one can ever extort somebody for another else's gain. a person has the right to protect his or her own being.

2nd video:
our rights are never dictated to us but they are given to us and even if they are not stated there is still that right which should not be violated nor be overthrown because of one's motives.

there is always peace in every part of the world there is only the question if whether or not both hostile sides would be open-minded enough as to settle their differences. yes this is very idealistic in a sense but in this sense also lies the truth that can always happen if there was real want, or clear intentions. hostilities always comes with the motives and these motives whether righeous or not can always get the best of anyone so one thing should be done.... there should be real communication.

for me there is only one solution in all of the chaos in minadanao... after watching the videos... hostilities and violence can never do anything to anybody. there should be respect and openness to all that is concerned. in this sense both parties will get to disciover one's needs and sentiments. and in this possibility people can reach a REAL SOLUTION when they have REAL AND OPEN-MINDED discussion

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* by the government's soldiers?

Based on the situation I have read, the level of aggresion commited by the MILF rebels were very savage, very inhumane. They go against the government in a very crucial way. The government soldiers' hostility was just to gain justice but I go for them not to kill the beheaders. I just want them to be in prison for a lifetime.

What is the tone of the statement of:
Muhammad Ameen, Joel Goltiao, and Norberto Gonzales?

* Muhammad Ameen's statement depicts that the said fighting was directly formed and fierced by the Philippine Marines and there was no ambush happened but a fair eight-hour encounter.

* Joel Goltia's tone of statement tells that they hope there would be a major breakthrough in the peaceful efforts of putting those responsible for the beheading of the Marines behind bars. In short, they look for a fair justice.

* Norberto Gonzales is very eager to catch those beheaders because he believe that such people dont have a place in this country.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? - We all have the rights not to be tortured by anyone, even if our parents or even the president. It is our right to save ourselves from things that wont hurt us. Why torture if you dont want to be tortured to. Torturing was never a reason to discipline someone. It just causes rebelion and hatred.

* 2nd video? - It tells us that all the human rights are all inborn. We all have it, it is not something we need to gain or buy, they were all already within us. Just like dignity. Human rights were violated because some people ignore your rights for their own sake. Selfishness is it. Sad but its true that there are people who doesnt care about your rights that's why rights are oftenly violated.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
I cannot say that there is totally no Peace in Basilan. I still have the hope that there will still be a place for Peace there. Actually, there is still peace in some hearts of the people who live there hoping to vanish the war.

When will all these wars and killings be over?
There is no exact day and time when these wars will be over. It is up to those people who choose to be in a state of hostility rather to be at peace and harmony. If they'll just look at the big picture. I wish these will be over soon.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels? - Know their rights, so they'll respect and not violate the rights of others.
* government's soldiers? - Dont be so cruel to the rebels, instead help them realize what they do is wrong and there is nothing they can gain if they continue to kill. They just add depression to the world and theirselves to.
* people of Basilan? - Have faith that soon this killings will be over.
* young people (in general)? - Pray, Pray, Pray, and know how much importat the Human Rights are so they will not violate others' rights. Youth is the hope of the next generation so its in their hands, not in the officials or soldiers. It's in what their hearts intend to do for the country.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* by the government's soldiers?

Answer: --For both MILF rebels and government soldiers, their actions are unacceptable and unforgivable. There are other ways wherin we could fight for our human rights. Brutal killings and violence don't solve any of the problems nor save our rights as human beings. Yes, we should protect our rights and ourselves but killings and human violence is not the way or the solution for it. Peace will not take place until people unite as one and have peace within themselves.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen? Ans: --Protecting their men. As the MILF Secretariat, he has a responsibility with his men.
* Joel Goltiao? Ans: --Hoping and wanting justice for those who were beheaded by the MILF by putting those who were responsible for it behind bars.
* Norberto Gonzales? Ans: --Strong will and agressive. Eager to put justice to what happened.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? Ans: --The video consists of people who were abused and who were violated. They share their experiences wherein there rights as human beings and their dignity were taken away from them. They were physically abused and hurt by people around them.
* 2nd video? Ans: --It's about our human rights which belongs to us. We don't have to buy them, or apply for them, or ask permission to have them, it's just ours. No matter who we or how we live, we all have our rights. Some may violate it or ignore it but it doesn't change the fact that we have our rights and it is ours. NO ONE CAN TAKE AWAY OUR HUMAN RIGHTS.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
Answer: --There's always a place for peace for anyone and anywhere. But it is needed that each individual should have peace in them. Peace will be achieved if people have the willingness to have it. All's possible for anything.
When will all these wars and killings be over? Ans: --We'll never know. I don't have the answer to that. No one can really get to answer to when will it all be over. But I believe that it all depends on us. It is within us that will make our world a peaceful place. If there is no poverty and discrimination. No cheating and stealing or corruption from people. Simple individual acts that we do each day reflect to what kind of world we would like to live in.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?
* government's soldiers?
* people of Basilan?
* young people (in general)?

Answer: --For the MILF rebels, government soldiers, people in Basilan and young people in general: The soultion is within them. Maybe they haven't figured it out yet but soon they should really act on it. Many people are dying and suffering because of it. There should be a stop for it. If we all just be united as one and have peace within us, everything will go right into it's right place. They should think that the youth are affected by it and they influence them in a lot of ways. Whatever they do today will reflect in the future, especially to those who are young and at their early age, they are already a part of a brutal world. Love and support from everyone else is important to have. The solution is in us, involve or not, we are all part of it because we are living in the same world and we are living as one.

1st video:
No torture - In the video a couple of youths were shown that had scars, wounds, and traces of lashes. Alot of people this days to those kind of violent things to their children just to simply discipline them, but unfortunately, their " discipline " to their children goes way too far, not knowing that they are already hurting them not just physically, but emotioanally as well. Adults ought to do things the right way, because it is the adults where the children look up to.

2nd video:
No one can take away your human rights - Nobody, not even our parents, can take away our rights. Rights are there to make our lives more comfortable. If you have a dream, go for it, never let anything stand in your way, doing what we want to do is one of the most significant right that we have in our lives.

Secondly, the solutions.

Milf rebels - or subtly known as Moro Islamic Liberation Front, tend to do things the way they want to. They resort to violence and criminal acts in order to get the attention of the government. For their inhumane acts to stop, it is a must that two individuals, one from the government, and one from the MILF, to sort things out. All they need to do, is discuss things peacefully. Because if both parties doesn't realize the danger they cause to the people of the country, or even if they don't care at all, these killings and murders, wouldn't stop.

Government Soldiers - if I had the power to control the soldiers of the government, I wouls not resort to unjustifiable means, but instead take of things in a humane manner, I wouldn't order them out to attack or infiltrate a place to kill people, I would send them to places where people who are in need of security and safety the most.

Poeple of Basilan - known to be one of the strongholds of the ABU-sayaff group is found somewhere in Mindanao. the people living within the community are most likely in fear out of thier wits everyday, worrying what would happen to their lives. For now, most likely the best option, that as long as the criminal groups are within their midst, is that they would try their best to avoid their company.

Young People (In General) - youths, can live their lives to fullest, with no restrcitions. It is only at first though, that they might experience hardships because of people with mean intentions. But, this problems can be solved if the young people would talk to the adults, because sometimes, the adults do those certain things because they were treated like that in the past, if poeple had the courage to stand up to them and talk everything out, then it could be fixed.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* by the government's soldiers?

- The degree of aggression to which the milf had committed is undoubtedly onr of the sickest form of violence i have ever seen. I abhor meaningless violence and the extent of the milf's hostility can only be coined or termed as barbaric and uncivilized.

- I must say their decision to put the milf behind bars are a must, i do not belive in death penalties but justice must prevail.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?
* 2nd video?

- Since there was a problem with the video all I could do was to listen to the audio. the 1st video i suppose was the act of bullying, the video tries to portray that everyone has their own right as a human person. Bullying is major concern nowadays especially the victims are the ones who turn hostile when they grow up and seek revenge.

- I'm not sure but it is said there that every human being has their own right. Human rights does not specifically choose the person, you cannot apply for them because you already have them and no one can take that away from you. It is something that everyone is born with.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

- Peace has always a place everywhere and anywhere. I'm sure that the people in Basilan also want to have peace. They may not say it and even proclaim that killing is their proffession, But i sincerely doubt that everyone wants peace.
The killings and wars will be over when understanding and humility are put into play. That is my solution.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?
* government's soldiers?
* people of Basilan?
* young people (in general)?

- MILF - Please you've tried the killing strategy and it didn't work out well since some of your men too have fallen, why not try peace for a month or two and if that doesn't work go back to killing but i'm sure once you've had a taste of peace you would not want to leave that state of peace.

- Government soldiers - Try peace too for a while then if you don't like it go ahead and fight again.

- People of Basilan - Try and stop your men from fighting, because if they die who will be left alone, whose children would not have a father as they grow up. Please think about it.

- Young people - AS the next generation you have seen the mistakes of the older generation, learn from it. Do not follow it.

Hostilities caused by:
- the MILF: Beheading and Mutilation of the government soldiers. very barbaric act and unsuitable of our time, as much it is inhumane
- the Soldiers: Provoking the MILF and Starting the gunshed. There are smarter ways to mobilize a threath than to jump in and start shooting everybody.

Tone of Statement of:
- Muhammed Ameen: Defensive. He doesn't want tHe MILF to get the blame out of this encounter by clearly stating that it was the soldiers that provoked them, naturally they made them sorry for it.
- Joel Goltiao: Angry and Hopeful that the perpetrators would be behind bars. Basically, covering up of the fact he has no clue what to do.
- NOrberto Gonzales: Angry and convinced, convinced of the fact that the people responsible will have justice brought upon them.

MOVIE.
Message of:
- 1st: Torture is violating Human Rights
- 2nd: no one can take your dignity as it in you and inert.
Peace should ahve a place anywhere and everywhere in the world. without peace, they can't be any light in the world

Solutions:
MILF: Put yourself in the position of those you put pain upon, and feel what they feel, suffer what they suffer. and maybe then, you'll brighten up and be humans.
Government Soldiers: there's such a thing called "tactics" and "strategy", ever heard of it?. You don't go to battle blind, you scout and make a plan to stop any threath.
People of Basilian: put your differences aside and think that you all are human and have rights and each one of you should respect the freedom and rights of others.
Young People: stay out of trouble and stay in school. the best weapon you will ver have is what's inside your head and your chest.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?

The MILF rebels committed a very hineous act which is way far to be an action of a real human. What they did was very inhumane, I could not think of a right word to identify the level of hostility that they did; because like what I have just stated, what they did was beyond the level of a thinking person. They must have adopted the behaviors of the animals. By then, I could now understand why they did such act.

* by the government's soldiers?

I think the agression of the government's soldiers was just appropriate. It is their duty to protect the kidnapped priest, they went to Basilan to look for him. The attack was accordingly. It was according to their duties and responsibilities. All they wanted was to save a life, and yet their lives were taken, their heads were literally beheaded, they were tortured, they were treated inhumanely. They were treated like helpless animals by the animals (MILF) themselves.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?

The tone of his statement was more of a blame in the part of the marines. He's telling us that they were provoked by the marines, and the fight was initiated by the marines as well. I don't think that the marines should hold responsible for what happened to themselves for it is their duty to protect the lives of their countrymen and even the kidnapped priest who's now serving our Catholic community. Why should we blame these people who's been trying, and been

* Joel Goltiao?

He's trying to tell us that in this kind of case, there should be some major changes, go beyond the restrictions to punish the responsible of the beheading act. Everyone's still trying to promote peace despite of what happened. He seems to be asking permission indirectly to the church to have some major breakthrough regarding this case. Because he probably knows that the Catholic Church would be the first one to react if they will do something as bad as the actions of the MILF to punish them.

* Norberto Gonzales?

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* - Very violent and they didn't think of the lives that they would take, and the families that will be terribly affected; selfish
* by the government's soldiers?
* -heroes; were killed for fighting against terrorism

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
* -very insensitive. the soldiers were trying to protect us from teroorism. they were doing there job, and yet, he blamed it on the soldiers. They were the victims, their lives were taken, not the rebels'.
* Joel Goltiao?
* -i agree with his statement. the soldiers' families deserve justice, and for the rebels, they deserve punishment for such hideous acts.
* Norberto Gonzales?
* -i agree with his statement. the soldiers' families deserve justice, and for the rebels, they deserve punishment for such hideous acts.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?
* -No one should be tortured for whatever reasons in whatever manner.
* 2nd video?
* Our rights are all innate. We don't apply for it. People should respect all our rights and know that we are all equal.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?
-Yes. I believe that peace still has a place in Basilan. If only the rebels would agree to have a compromise with the government, and the government will give them a fair trial or condition, all will be under control. It's just that pride is getting in the way, and if this will always be the case, then peace will never take over that place. The rebels should stop ambushing people, and taking innocent lives at stake. Peace is never impossible, if both parties would just swallow prides, and think of the country's welfare instead of their own.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?
* - Stop killing people and just compromise with the government. This will never stop unless a brave soul will take charge and just get this over with. We are all Filipinos, with same color, same race, same blood running through our veins. It's just not right to kill and take innocent lives away from their families for such selfish reasons.
* government's soldiers?
* -Soldiers are modern day heroes. I salute their bravery and loyalty for the country, putting their lives at stake for us.
* people of Basilan?
* -Pray for peace, because it still has a place in Basilan. Be a true Filipino, and stop killing other Filipinos. We should all be united in peace and love.
* young people (in general)?
* -Do not be indifferent. The youth should have a care or concern on what is going on around them. We are the hope of this country, and we should prove it. Peace can start from us, if we promote justice and human rights. In our own little way, in our own little steps, we can make this world a better and fairer place to live.

"Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me
Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father, BROTHERS ALL ARE WE
Let me walk with my brother, IN PERFECT HARMONY."

VIDEO 1
Torturing of people is a violation of our human rights

VIDEO 2
Our rights are ours and ours alone, it was with us from the day we were born

MILF Rebels
They should really think of the people and their human rights. Since everyone has the right to protection then the rebels should put themselves on the shoes of those they take as hostages. Would they still do these things if they did that?

Government's Soldiers
They are actually trying to help stop the violence in Basilan but by suing violence as well. This is not the best solution. There should be more diplomatic negotiations between the two opposing sides in order to respect everyone's rights.

People of Basilan
They should try to inspire the people involved not to use violent means to stop the war. Then through this, maybe the killing would lessen and even stop.

Young People
Everyone has rights that we should learn to respect. Violence never solved anything in the long run. You are just hurting more people and disrupting peace on earth. The young people should always bear that in mind.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* they want peace, by killing their enemies.
* by the government's soldiers?
* They want everybody to follow them.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
* This guy is just calmed, and he is just telling everyone not to panic about what happened and he is blaming it to the marines.
* Joel Goltiao?
* He is mad or angry inside, he wants justice to what the marines has done to them, he is telling that they are innocent, and have no intentions of fighting, they are just protecting theirselves from death.
* Norberto Gonzales?
* He is mad of what their enemies had done, and he wants revenge immediately.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?
* That People should not take advantage of others, its just because they don't have the power to fight back, especially the kids who is innocent. They should not torture this people ar anyone.

* That i have all the rights can have, you don't have to find it ar buy it, it is within me, and don't let others destroy it.

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.

For me No, because they are not yet stopping all this wars, and killings, for me money and power is the answer, which is impossible to be implemented.
if only everyone will learn their lessons and cooperate.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?

- I strongly believe that everyone has the right to their own belief. Thats why i dont blaim them why they did what they did. They were simply deffending themselves from the aggressors or the soldiers.

* by the government's soldiers?

- I believe they were the ones at fault here. You cant expect to attack a person without them fighting back. They were the ones who made the first move and they payed the consiquences. The matter might be too extreme but maybe it is just a sign that they wont back down.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?

- He is just explaining what really happend.

* Joel Goltiao?

- He is mad for what happend to the marines and wants justice for what happend.

* Norberto Gonzales?

- Like Joel Goliato, he wants justice and he also wants a peaceful country. He wants the beheaders to leave so this incident wont happen again.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?

- For me the message tells us the different kinds of opressions that is happenidng daily. It also leaves a message that it dosnt mean that you can do something, you should.

* 2nd video?

- This simply tells us that me, you, and everyone has the same rights. And all of us have it, we dont have to be someone to have it. The mere fact that we are human beings mean that we already ahve this rights. These rights are here for a reason. And that is to ensure our freedom and peace.
Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

- I believe there is a chance that we can finally have peace over there. But i dont believe that it can be done by using force. We can shoot and kill them but there is always someone to take their place. Thats why i strongly believe that a peaceful talk could work. All we have to do is compromise.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?

- I think if they really want their voice to be heard, they should not use brute force but to talk peacefully.

* government's soldiers?

- I will remind them that all of us have rights. and they should not also us brute force. if they really want peace they should compromise. Like the song "Kaleidoscope World" said... "You cant talk peace and have a gun".

* people of Basilan?

- They should not forget what they believe in but also the respect the belief's of others. Everyone of them wants respect but only some gives respect.

* young people (in general)?

- Do not discriminate people who are different from us. All of are all brothers and sisters in the kingdom of God.

The level or degree of aggression or hostility committed by the MILF rebels is on the level that it is unforgiveable because no one has ther right to take another peron's life, except for God because every single one of us has a right to life. What the MILF rebels did was unforgiveable also because their action was hasty and probably done out of anger, in other words it was a senseless and merciless act.

I think that the MILFs have a reason to be so angry at the government. It is the same as how the Muslims or how the world is so angry at the Americans. It could be true that the soldiers initiated and provoked the the fight, however, I still don't agree in retaliating in such a brutal and inhumane way. On the part of the soldiers, they also should not have reacted that way. If there was no reason to fire at the MILF, then they should not have fired at them for no reason at all. Now, it seems like the soldiers stooped down to the level of the MILFs by firing randomly with no reason.

Mohammad Ameen's statement was not that of remorse. His tone was of blame and not guilt and even blamed the other party for the deaths of the soldiers. The tone of the statement of Joel Goltiao sounded more of hope that Mindanao would soon be peaceful. I guess, of the three individuals, Mr. Goltiao understood the situation more than anyone else. He felt that the war in Mindanao was already taking a toll on everybody and has got to stop. I thought that the tone of Norberto Gonzalez was arrogant. I don't think he should have said it in that mannner because it could also cause more damage to the already bloody war between the government and the MILF.

The first video is all about children being abused. Children have the right to be children and enjoy life as children, where they are free to play, where they should be taken care of, and to simply be children. They are not there to be punching bags or to bully around. Children are there to be loved.

The second video tells us that all of us have human rights in general and should never be abused or violated because the violation of human rights is the same as the violation of human dignity and of God Himself since God gave us our life.

I think peace has a place in Mindanao and in every nook and cranny of the world. Peace should not choose a place nor should it be a privilege because I think peace is our right as humans. It is something we should not earn or gain or win over, it should be the basis of how we live as HUMAN beings.

The only way I see these killings will be over is if each side swallows their pride and accepts the fact that we are all different and can never satisfy the other party. The best solution I can think of right now is if both parties compromise and agree to a solution because living in the fear of war can't go on forever. We are humans who have the right to live in peace.

I believe that the MILF rebels must fight for their right but not through hostility. There are other ways to fight for something through more peaceful ways. We are humans just like them and we are all equal in the sense that we all have the right to live. No one is above anyone else, we are all equal.

Good that the MILF soldiers are also doing their job of protecting the people but if there is no reason to provoke a war, then they should not start a fight. I think the soldiers think they are above the rebels and feel that they have the right to fire at the MILF. I think, just like the MILFs, the soldiers too should swallow their pride and work something out peacefully, not through senseless firing.

The people of Basilan should be patient. I know that the war has been going on ever since but in the end, things will get better. God is not an evil peson to let His people suffer. There are rewards after. It may not come now but it will come. The people just need to stay calm and probably work with the MILFs and government as to how the problem can be solved since they are the ones in the middle of the war and understand the situation more than anybody else.

The young people can help by letting the Filipinos aware of the situation and then inducing a reaction and then working together to create an action plan. The young people, don't know it but their voices can make a huge difference. Young people just need to work on it instead of just sitting around and hearing about the situation in Basilan.

In the 1st part, if the news was really true, they have commited injury and added insult to that injury. killing itself is a really big sin and they didn't just killed the soldiers, they have chopped them as well into pieces. Plus, if that is really true, they should have admitted it. because it will add to their sins. they lied 'pa'. the government soldiers, on the other hand, i think are too harsh in having the MILF speak and admit their mistakes.

Muhammad Ameen's statement has not been supported much with details. what is that 'encounter' he is talking about?what happened in that encounter. he should admit it if that's what really happened. Joel Goltiao's tone, on the other hand, is a very good one. he is asking for a peaceful solution of the case. i think that's the best possible way to solve it. but the other one, Norberto Gonzales, is for me, too harsh. his tone is very angry. 'the beheader have no place...'..it's too much. MILF still consist of people who also has rights. we should not discriminate them totally but just give them the consequence or punishment for their mistakes.

The first video is about torture. No one can torture you or hurt you in anyway just because you don't give what other wants. Especially is what they want is wrong. you have to fight for your rights...for your dignity. whoever you are, whther you're a kid or old already, male or female, rich or poor, NO ONE can take or destroy your dignity. it's not wrong to fight for it. the second video is the one i really like. "human right number 30--No one can take your human rights from you" . it's like agreeing in double. H.R.#30 tells us that all the other rights cannot be taken from us. no one is exempted from having it and following it.

after watching the videos' i think MILF should really just admit it and take the consequences if they really did it. but if not, they should support it with facts. killing will not do anything good. be responsible and don't run from your mistakes. the government soldiers should be mature in handling this. they should not be harsh in asking the MILF admit it. they should handle this peacefully so that other people especially those in basilan will not be affected. the war they are wanting to do should not be done because many people especially those who are innnocent will be greatly affected. they are risking the lives of many others. the people of basilan should just be careful. they should not panic. instead, they should make a way to bring the case in a peaceful and orderly manner. they should make a way to talk or to address to both sides so that there will not be a war. lastly, the young people is of course expected not to follow the rebels. if you want something in the government, talk and ask for it nicely. war and killing is not the answer to get what you want.

the message of the videos

1st video. the first video speaks of domestic violence and torture of children. It is somehow the voice that shouts out to the world that there is such a thing as torture and violence that exists even in our own homes and the homes of others. naturally, it is the children who suffer. Be it from physical or emotional disturbances that occurs in their homes and it is a sad truth that they can't even run away from it.

children have the right to live a normal and healthy life. a life without violence, torture and abuse is what they truly deserves. they must grow up in a violent-free environment for them to become better persons someday. we are children. and we have dignities too. and that should be respected and taken care of.

2nd video. as a human being, we are entitled to different rights. we earned them the moment we were born. you dont have to pay for them. you dont have to apply for them. it rightfully belongs to you. some people may ignore them. some may not acknowledge them.some people may even pretend they don't exists. but no one could ever take away your human right. no matter who they are, they just don't have the right to take away your dignity as a human.

Has PEACE a place in Mindanao?

first of all, peace does not pertain to place. it does not refer to a specific place where everything is "quiet" and "calm". Peace is more than that. it is more of a situation than a place. it is the feeling of security and protection. even if there's a war, there could still be peace. peace is all about feeling good. silence does not mean we're at peace. for all we know, it is in silence where most wars occur.

so... mindanao definitely has peace. it has a room for peace despite all that we've heard about the fights going on in it. for me, it's not just about the place itself because, think about it, even here in manila, there's such a thing as "war" that's going on practically everywhere. it just so happens that mindanao was stereotyped by some people as a place of "warfare" and destruction due to all the bombings and terrorism that occured there. but that does not mean they're not in peace. it's not fair to label them as such for before all these reports, mindanao's just as normal as any place in our country.

if the people will work together and unite, it is possible that this certain "peace" would really be in our country, not just in mindanao.

solutions
milf rebels. don't be so stubborn. stop letting pride get the better of you. maybe one day, you'll realize there's more to life than seeking out for revenge. all you have to do is to listen. stop and listen. and then, it's your choice whether you'll follow them (government). but before anything else, just listen. who knows, maybe, some listening will do you good rather than resulting to wars and misunderstanding.

government's soldiers. before they do anything just yet, they better be aware of their own actions as well. they're so good at pointing things to others, they don't even realize that they themselves are doing the exact same thing. you'd think they're so clean but in fact, there's such a thing as animosity that occurs within the government as well. so they better clean up the skeletons in their closets too.

people of basilan. nothing. just pray and have faith. and they should not contribute to the troubles in their place. they've got enough of those already.i would suggest that in every family, peace must always be around to save them. before they could achieve peace in their community, they must be at peace with themselves first.

young people. if it's true that we've all got a shot to make a difference to this world, now's the time for us to get moving. stop all the nonsense and stupidity and all those teenage drama mediocrities and instead, focus on all the wonderful things life has to offer. someday, we'll get to have the life we really deserve and it will all be worthy.

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels? It think the agression of the rebels are inhuman for other peoples because they beheaded and mutulated the soldiers. But for me the agression is just normal because they have different kind of community on the modanao province. And the agression depends on the people's perception who rates it. Not on how most of the people rate it.

* by the government's soldiers? For me, the agression of these peoples is 5/10 (neutral) because the soldiers are just doing their job. Job to protect our own country from invaders but the people they fought are not invaders but also the people of out own country.

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen? It is not his fault which triggerd the fight of the two oppositions, it the soilders and rebels fault..

* Joel Goltiao? Joel want to have to have peace talks for the MILF especially on the people who beheaded those soldiers.

* Norberto Gonzales? He discriminates the rebels who killed the soldiers on the clash..

What is the message of the:

* 1st video? The video tells us about child abuse..
* 2nd video? The next video tell us about the different kind of right of the people. Which we humans have to do this in order for us to have peace

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
In some places in basilan there are peace.. But most of the place there are cwaling of rebels.

When will all these wars and killings be over? When all of the humans are dead. We cant and never stop the war and killings.

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels? Peace talks..
* government's soldiers? I think the government should not put these soldiers on basilan because they just make these soldier's life in danger.
* people of Basilan? i dont know..
* young people (in general)? They shoul strive to study hard so they can be a better persons when they grew up,

What level or degree of aggression or hostility committed:

* by MILF rebels?
* by the government's soldiers?

What is the tone of the statement of:

* Muhammad Ameen?
* Joel Goltiao?
* Norberto Gonzales?

1. Both sides claim they were in defence. Now we never will really know the truth. This Defence became a ten hour gun battle that resulted in the rebels beheading their opponents and sending out a message: "leave us alone", but sadly the message was taken as a threat and aggresion built up further. Why can't both sides just simply get along, because they are human.

2. Ameen's tone was very defensive. But he is labeled the rebel so we don't know if he is telling the truth or not. He sounded very logical about what happened.
Goltiao's tone was arrogant and believes he is in the side of the righteous. He just looked at the act of beheading and based judgement on that, at least on this statement. If thats how he is, then finding a real solution will be impossible from him.
Gonzales' tone is one of another closed mind, though very protective. He sounds like a mere product of the times. If he has something important to say, he lets it out with a very sheeplike or lemming of a tone that he just lost all credibility and therefore makes it hard to take this man seriously.

What is the message of the:

* 1st video?
* 2nd video?

Has PEACE a place in Basilan (Mindanao)? Explain.
When will all these wars and killings be over?

After, watching the two videos, what solutions can you offer and do to the:

* MILF rebels?
* government's soldiers?
* people of Basilan?
* young people (in general)?

1st video: this gives the audience a very innocent view of victims and are made to feel sorry for them. Protection and awareness are the message here.
2nd video: This is more peaceful and says to respect the rights of everyone, even the simplest and childish rights are still rights.

With the numerous solutions given to the rebels and the governmnet, nothing seems to work so I'm gonna be very straight with their hard heads. Given enough authority, I would tell them to just make up and stop disturbing eachother. I would give the rebels their own place and set them there and the government their own place and set them there and have them not interact with eachother. no help, no business, nothing. Let their hard heads be given just punishment. If they can't get along, then they don't deserve eachother and if Unity is out of the picture, then separate them. Lets see how they survive with a split country.
